Harry sighed through his nose, running a hand through his messy dark hair.

God, why did she have to be so perfect?

She sat in the courtyard, on the other side, sitting with her best friend, Luna Lovegood. They were both talking, her eyes alive with passion on whatever subject she was talking about. It couldn't be him. No, it couldn't. She gently pushed some of her hair out of her eyes, continuing to talk to Luna with that perfect smile on her face.

Harry sighed quietly again, his two friends Ron and Hermione once again arguing about something. He didn't care right now, though. There was something much more distracting, and it was on the other side of the courtyard.

"...Harry, you al-right? You seem out of it today?" Ron's voice brought him back to the world around him, and he blinked a few times.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." He replied, adjusting his glasses. Ron looked confusedly at him; Hermione, on the other hand, had her know it all smile etched onto her face.

"You're not, Harry. Obviously you've been staring at (Name) ever since she sat down here with Luna, which has been at least ten minutes now."

Ron looked over at you, then back at Harry with a silly grin. "You like her?"

"I don't!" Harry said, his eyes widening. He quickly sat up straight next to his friends. Hermione smirked.

"Ooooh, you do! You've gone red!" She said with a giggle. Harry unconsciously brought his hands up to his cheeks, looking at Ron. He shrugged, a smug look on his face.

"Don't look at me, mate. You have been eyeing her a lot now that I think about it."

Harry half-glared at his friends. They smiled back at him. Hermione's face soon twisted into a tiny smirk.

"Luna!!" She called across the courtyard, grabbing both her and (Name)'s attention. Harry quickly diverted his eyes, wishing he had his Invisibility Cloak with him at this precise moment. Luna stood up, and walked over, looking vaguely interested about what was happening around her.

"Whatever is the matter?" She said, glancing between Hermione, Ron and Harry.

"Harry's got a crush on (Name)." Hermione said, folding her arms over her chest. Luna seemed to be more interested now.

"Oooh, does he? Well, I'd be quick to tell her, Harry, I've heard a rumor that someone else in the school also likes her a lot."

Harry's heart began to pound. His eyes shot up to meet hers. "Who?"

"Draco Malfoy."

And with that, she wandered back to where she was moments ago, leaving the trio to their thoughts.
Harry had never felt so angry before. Except maybe when he was learning Occlumency with Snape. His worst enemy, Draco Malfoy, worse than his own cousin Dudley, also liked her?

"Harry? You okay?" Ron's voice brought him back to his surroundings once again, making him stare at his friends with sadness and anger in his eyes.

"Harry, you have to tell her before Draco does. Then again, it's most likely true; he does stare at her during lessons a lot, much like you do..." Hermione wondered aloud.

Harry sighed, slouching in his seat and looking up at the sky. It's not that easy to tell someone how you feel most of the time. Surely confessing this to her would be much more difficult?

"Come on, Harry, we've got Potions with Professor Slughorn now." Hermione said. Harry got up to his feet, and slowly trudged behind his friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Draco was one of the first students to arrive at Potions class, considering they were in the dungeons. He sat down in his seat, grabbing his equipment, and looked lazily around the classroom. He frowned more when the doors opened, and his three enemies walked into the classroom. That filthy mudblood Hermione, that awful Weasley, and the celebrity, Harry Potter. Just thinking that name made his blood boil with rage.
More and more students filed into the classroom, and settled down. Moments after, the door opened, and she walked in. Her eyes carefully searched the classroom, looking for somewhere to sit, noticing that all seats had been taken except for the one next to him. She locked eyes with him, sending him a quick smile that made his cheeks heat up slightly. She quickly walked over, sitting down next to him.
"Hi." She said in a breathless tone. Draco simply smiled shyly, glancing away and at the table, which was suddenly much more interesting.
Professor Slughorn walked into the room, and explained to the class what was going to be achieved in today's lesson. Whilst (Name) was busy paying attention to what Slughorn was saying, Draco took this time to study her face. They way her eyes studied the board and the Professor, and the way her hand fiddled with the hem of her robe.
Little did Draco know about the holes of fury Harry was glaring into the back of his head.
And that she knew he was staring at her.
~~~~~(I'm gonna try to make the rest of this in your POV now)~~~~

As you were listening to Slughorn drabble on, you couldn't help but notice the way Draco was staring at you. It was like he could see your soul, and you were starting to grow uncomfortable in his gaze. You started fiddling with the hem of your robe to ease the awkwardness, but he continued staring at you. What was everyone's problem? First Harry was staring at you today, now Draco?

The students began to pair up with each other and begin their potion. You glanced at Draco, who blushed and then looked away. Strange. That's unlike him. Very unlike him.

"So, uh...are you gonna help me or what?" You asked him quietly.

"YOU can do all the work today, Mudblood." He spat harshly, pushing the cauldron into your arms. Your eyes widened at the name he gave you. What in the name of-?
Not wanting to start an argument, you stood up and grabbed all the ingredients you needed, all the while Draco staring at you and...uh...some other places of you. You quickly settled down again, and began working on the potion by yourself, Draco still staring at you. You tried as best as you could to hide your face, besides, his words hurt you.

"Hurry up, Mudblood. I'd prefer if we'd finish this on ti-"

You slammed your chopping knife down on the table angrily, making several people jump and look your way.

"I'd rather if you called me by my actual name, Malfoy." You hissed, putting emphasis on his name. Each word was spoken as if it were acid. Draco gawked at you, eyes wide and jaw slacked.

"And when are you going to stop staring at me? It's creeping me out, to be quite honest!" You yelled, trying your best to intimidate him. His face quickly contorted into one of anger, and he stood up, towering over you slightly. You managed to keep your stance, even if he was getting a little intimidating.

"No one dares to talk back to me. Especially a Mud-"

The harsh sound of skin on skin contact filled the room, and there was complete silence. A quill could have floated to the ground and everyone would have heard it. Draco nursed his red cheek in one hand.

"Excuse me, Professor." You said, grabbing your bags and running out of the classroom. Everyone was completely silent, watching Draco's every move as if he were about to pounce. A few Gryffindors cowered slightly, a few grinning, almost.

"Right. Well, I guess after that charade, we can just...leave today's lesson as it is." Slughorn said, trying to gain the attention of the shocked students. "Draco, are you al-right?"

Draco was trying to contemplate what just happened. He had just been slapped square across the face, by his crush, no less. He stared blankly at the floor.

"...Well, er, students, feel free to leave early, I will take care of the classroom!"

Harry gave a quiet sigh of relief, and rushed out of the classroom to find you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You had wandered to the closed off bathroom where Moaning Myrtle usually wails. You had sat down by the sink, knees hugged up to your chest and your eyes red and puffy. You weren't exactly sure why you were crying; you honestly felt a little proud you actually mustered up the courage to slap the pompous brat across the face.
You heard the bathroom door open, but didn't look up to see who it was. You heard the shuffle of footsteps and low murmur of a few voices. You shut your eyes, leaning against the wall behind you.
"(Name)? Are you al-right?" Hermione's concerned voice picked up in your ears.
"I-I don't know." You replied back quietly. Your face was probably blotchy and red, especially around your eyes. You didn't want her to see you like this.
"We'll leave you two alone." Hermione's hushed voice whispered, and there was more shuffling of footsteps and the gentle sound of the door closing.
You opened your tired eyes slightly, and saw Harry kneeling on the ground in front of you, worry written on his face. "Are you okay?"
At that moment, you broke. You sat up, leaned forward, and hugged him tightly. You buried your face into his shoulder. He tensed up at your actions, but soon relaxed.
"He-he kept staring at me. Then he was nasty, called me a Mudblood. He was acting so strange...I didn't know any other way to react. I don't know why I'm even crying, to be honest."
Harry ran his hand up and down the upper half of your back, his thumb rubbing gentle circles.
"Don't worry about Malfoy. He just tried to act like he owns everyone. Like he's better. You're better than him, I know you are."
You smiled slightly, lips twitching up. Slowly, you pulled away from him, studying his face. "Thank you." You breathed quietly. "Still...I should probably apologize to him. He may have called me a Mudblood but it was slightly over the top."
Harry looked at you skeptically, and you laughed, his cheeks burning slightly at the sound of your cheerful voice ringing throughout the room. You hugged him once more, and stood up.
"I'm going to find him." You said. Harry's eyes widened, standing up quickly as well.
"You're not joking?" He said, unconsciously pulling his wand out from his pocket.
"You're scared he's going to hurt me? I know how to defend myself, I've taken all the same lessons as you." You said, wiping any tear stains away from your face with your sleeve. You opened the door and exited the room, Harry hot on your tail.
"I'm going with you. I don't want a repeat of what just happened." He said, walking alongside you. You smiled, rolling your eyes.
"He calls me anything worse than a Mudblood, then a bruise is going to decorate his somewhat perfect-"
You stopped walking, Harry processing what you just said. "You...like Malfoy?!" He said, as if Hermione hadn't known something for the first time in her life.
"Uh...you see-"
"(Last Name)!!"
Your head snapped to the sound of a voice, and you saw Malfoy striding down the corridor towards the both of you.
"What are you doing hanging around with pathetic Potter?" He yelled, making Harry raise his wand at him. You lowered it, giving him a gentle look. He instantly calmed down.
"Look, Malfoy, I'm really sor-"
Malfoy tightly pulled you into his arms. You squeaked, looking at Harry. He stood there, gawking at you. "Help me!" You mouthed at him. Still no reaction. As if he had been petrified. Malfoy pulled away from, and grabbed your chin lightly, making you lock eye contact with him.
"I'm sorry I called you a Mudblood. And I can't help but stare at you. You're too..."
"Perfect." Harry finished his sentence. Draco glared at him, moving away from you.
"You better keep your hands off her, Potter."
"You better keep your hands off me then." You said, smirking. The two of them turned to look at you. You finally had placed the pieces together. You walked up to both of them, pulling them both down slightly so they were at your height.
"I know the both of you like me. Obviously I've noticed your staring." You breathed into their ears. "You've just gotta figure out who I like now."
And with that, you released them, and walked down the corridor to meet with your friends.
Harry and Draco glared at each other, before splitting their separate ways.
"She's still too perfect." They both muttered under their breath.
